Academic Week 2023
Theme: AI and the Changing World

The Department organizes Academic Week (A Week) every October to foster connections among practitioners and professionals from various business fields. It provides an opportunity for students and lecturers to gain insights into the evolving trends and practices in the real-world business environment. This year, the theme of Academic Week 2023 is "AI and the Changing World".

Business learning is dynamic, not static, just like your career development. We hope that the seminars will provide you with a deeper understanding to develop your career in this rapidly changing business environment, particularly in light of the rapid advancements in AI.

The details and schedule of the seminars are attached. The Department expects

  • Years 1 and 2 students to join at least ONE seminar/workshop, and
  • Years 3 and 4 students to join at least TWO seminars/workshops.
Especially those relevant to your BBA program, it is highly recommended to attend all seminars to develop your career plan.

Furthermore, we have organized four workshops in the afternoon focusing on specific AI applications. Due to limited availability with only 30 places for each workshop, please follow the instructions in the schedule to secure your seat as early as possible.

Please remember to bring your student ID and present it when attending the seminar(s) and/or workshop(s). If we do not have your attendance record, you will be considered absent from all classes for the week (i.e., 24 to 27 October).

We wish you all a fruitful Academic Week.
