Department of Business Administration Held a Successful Retreat 


On Tuesday, 19 August 2025, the Department of Business Administration at Hong Kong Shue Yan University conducted a departmental retreat in Shenzhen, aimed at enhancing the department's strategic initiatives and fostering collaborations with industry and academic partners.

The day commenced with a visit to Tencent’s Shenzhen office (騰訊深圳辦公室), where the department's faculty gained invaluable insights into the company’s past and current products and services. This visit provided a unique opportunity for us to understand Tencent's operations and its approach to serving clients both domestically and internationally.

In the afternoon, the department’s faculty continued the exploration with a visit to the Southern University of Science and Technology (南方科技大學). This visit allowed us to learn about the university's rich history, notable achievements, and diverse programs, as well as various research projects it offers, providing us with inspiration and insights for the educational development pathway.

The retreat culminated in a series of roundtable discussions led by Dr. Monica Law, Head of the Department of Business Administration. These discussions focused on key strategic areas, including a strategic review of our programmes, teaching and learning modalities, and more.

Dr. Law remarked, "This retreat has been instrumental in aligning our strategic goals with industry trends and academic advancements. We are committed to enhancing our programmes and fostering an environment that supports both our students and departmental development."

The retreat was a step toward supporting the Department of Business Administration’s mission to enhance business education and build connections within the academic and business communities. It is expected that more visits, field trips, and collaborations will be arranged for our staff and students in the coming years.
