About Department of Business Administration


History 

The Department of Business Administration was established when Shue Yan College was founded in 1971, offering a four-year Diploma Programme in Business Administration. In September 2003, the diploma programme was replaced by the Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours programme. The Master of Science in Marketing and Consumer Psychology was introduced in September 2013. Furthermore, three additional BBA programmes were introduced in 2018 and 2020, aiming to provide students with more options and opportunities, nurturing them to become professionals in various domains.


Aims and Objectives

The Department of Business Administration aims to educate its students to become business professionals who can make a difference in the world. Adhering to the University’s mission of “enabling students to cultivate a whole, balanced personality including moral character and to realize their full potential as individuals, as scholars and as good citizens” within a framework of traditional and modern Chinese cultural values and norms, the Department strives to:

  • advance business ethics education (in Western and Chinese contexts),
  • develop business professionals with social concerns and social responsibility
  • foster a business education culture with the traits of benevolence, integrity and discernment, and
  • contribute to business and social advancements in Hong Kong and China.

The Department also emphasizes dedicated teaching and quality research to provide relevant education that would contribute to real life practice.
