Techathon+ 2026: BUS483 Digital Entrepreneurship Students Reach Finals and Win Merit Award



The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) hosted Techathon+ 2026, a flagship annual entrepreneurship competition co-organized with local tertiary institutions. This year’s event attracted over 1,900 participants, including more than 470 teams from around the world, with 215 of those teams coming from overseas. Competing teams developed innovative and feasible solutions within four themes: “Trusted AI & Data Science”, “Sustainability & ESG”, “Life Science & Healthcare”, and “Digital Economy & Smart City”.

Two student teams from the BUS483 Digital Entrepreneurship course, led by Dr. Roy Ho, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration, successfully advanced to the finals. They faced off against other local and international teams from countries including Australia, Brazil, Chinese Mainland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, the UK, and the US. One of the teams, FishGuard, created an AI platform to collect and filter out spam information, including unsolicited emails and calls. This solution aims to prevent consumers from encountering fake content and fraud, which are prevalent today. FishGuard was awarded the Merit Award in the theme “Trusted AI & Data Science” (Student Group).

香港科技園公司（HKSTP）主辦了 Techathon+ 2026，這是一項與本地高等院校共同組織的年度創業競賽。今年的活動吸引了超過1,900名參加者，包括來自全球超過470支隊伍 (其中包括海外隊伍 215 支)。參賽隊伍在四個主題下開發創新和可行的解決方案：“人工智能與數據科學”、“可持續發展與環境、社會及管治”、“生命科學與醫療保健”以及“數字經濟與智慧城市”。

BUS483數位創業課程的兩支學生隊伍在工商管理學系助理教授何健漢博士的帶領下成功晉級決賽。他們與其他本地及來自澳洲、巴西、中國內地、日本、哈薩克斯坦、馬來西亞、葡萄牙、新加坡、韓國、台灣、英國及美國等地的隊伍競爭。本校參賽隊伍之一FishGuard 創建了一個人工智能平台，用於收集和過濾垃圾信息，包括不請自來的電子郵件和電話等。這個解決方案旨在防止消費者遭遇當前普遍存在的虛假內容和詐騙。FishGuard 在“人工智能與數據科學”（學生組）主題中獲得了優異獎。
